After 'skydancer' I wanted develop the hair sculpture concept further, to include colour and also work with a figure of more relaxed pose. I eventually decided on a female wading through water, hair trailing behind her, draped on to the surface. I don't mind admitting this was very challenging, but also great fun. I used beautifully grained cherry wood for the figure and dyed poplar wood for the hair and base.

I am really pleased how it came out and that the colour worked so well.
