One of my favourite projects is to create a sculpture from reclaimed timber or stone, rejected offcuts and sometimes even redundant old furniture. To find these unwanted, but beautiful, high quality, materials and give them a fresh start as a 'New Beginning' sculpture, is a really fulfilling passion.

ENTWINNED LIVES

This piece is created from two acquired offcuts of sapele and poplar woods. These were shaped separately, set together on a stone base, and then became one unique sculpture. My inspiration was to represent how two very different lives can join as one, support each other and become a perfect fit.

The base is upcycled Bath stone which was once part of a fire place!

INFINITE LOVE

A piece created of hardwood from a very old table top, saved from the skip, which I believe to be mahogany with an added strip of oak. This sculpture is simply designed to capture the beauty of a mothers love as she embraces her child and also incorporates a moebius twist, so there appears only one eternal surface.

The base is marble.

​

I think this small sculpture would make a wonderful representation of a long lasting relationship.
